With wedding season upon us, I’m happy to see all the new trends that will be big this year. Anja Winikka, the site director of The Knot, says that “two piece crop wedding gowns will be big.” I love all things unique about wedding elements, but non-classic wedding dresses hold a special place in my heart. Step out of your comfort zone to show a little bit of skin because this trend is a tad bit bold!
You see crop tops at college parties or the beach, but it’s circulating the wedding fashion world now. The crop top wedding dress is gaining popularity because it’s not as traditional and it’s definitely more daring to wear. I love the short sleeved crop top paired with the full skirt because it gives off that rustic and romantic look.
Handmade in San Francisco, this Caterina dress is the modern take on a bohemian maxi gown. This dress also features a beautiful cap sleeve that I adore. Eye lash scallops details on the hem and sleeves give it a chic look. You have the option of ordering it with or without the train.
Hayley Paige is a young and up and coming designer that has been sending show stoppers down the runways. Her Spring 2014 collection consist of one of a kind designs that will have you falling in love. This crop top wedding dress features an intricately designed top with a airy full skirt. Other designs in her collection include beautiful chunky bead work and delicate fabrics. It’s definitely hard to pick out which dress is my favorite!
Besides daring, the crop top wedding dress look also displays a relaxed feel. Liz from Late Afternoon can imagine herself wearing this look on her big day. She likes the outfit and can see herself barefoot as she marries the love of her life.
When it comes to fashion trends, I like to just observe, but I actually really like the concept of crop top wedding dresses. Besides the awesome look, I like that you can wear the pieces after your big day. Practical pieces are even better! I only have one crop top in my closet, so I’d have to slowly ease my way into the concept of a crop top wedding dress, but I have time, hah! Do you like this trend?
