I was so excited when my sister dropped me off at the Oakland airport Wednesday night. Except, I totally forgot that airport security makes you take off your jacket, shoes, basically everything! I was wearing an orange shirt.. and coincidentally was also wearing orange socks. I was standing there feeling like a duck. So embarrassing! Then my gate was the second to last one.. and since it was almost my flight time, I basically ran through the airport like a Freshman on the first day of college. Good thing there was a short delay, otherwise I might have missed my flight! When I was waiting in line to board, there was this Asian girl sitting on the ground holding five mini bottles of alcohol. Why didn’t I think of that? Just kidding!
When I was getting on the plane, Nikita texted me asking if I was going to Irvine. I was caught off guard cause I didn’t even tell him I was flying in. Turns out, his girlfriend was on the same flight. (Still a little caught off guard cause I don’t know who his girlfriend is.. or how she would know who I am or what I look like.)
On the plane, I sat next to these two middle aged guys. The guy on my right.. ugh, he took his shoes off and everything. And you know how I hate feet.. The guy on my left was pretty cool. He was an Exercise Biology major and worked with PTs, thinking of going to PA or PT school, and was going down to SoCal for a work conference. Their work conference even had a social gathering at Disneyland on the last day!
It was pretty cute how excited Chris sounded before my flight. When my flight got in early, he told me he was already at the airport waiting for me. And then poked fun at me saying how he isn’t going to cry if he had to go around in circles looking for me (like I did when I had to pick my daddy up from SFO).
He picked me up, and since he didn’t eat dinner yet, we picked up some Subway to eat at home. Then, we watched Friends With Benefits. Even though I’m a big chick-flick-hater, this movie was pretty cute!

Thursday morning, I made Chris watch The Challenge: Shit They Should’ve Shown. And then he was saying how he was really hungry and wanted to go eat Bruxie as soon as possible. I was wondering why he was so persistent in leaving so soon cause he’s usually pretty relaxed about where or when to eat. It turns out, my boyfriend and my pen pal, Vy, decided to surprise me! Vy and Johnny (and Conan!) were already at Bruxie waiting for us.

Vy got me goodies from Italy when she went to study abroad during the summer!
She got me “legit Italian soaps”, face exfoliant, and a notebook. And she also got me a really cute postcard. Her handwriting is super cute and amazing!

This time at Bruxie, I decided to try their Smoked Salmon. It was mouth watering delicious! I didn’t order the chicken and waffles this time cause I didn’t want something too heavy, and this was definitely a good choice. It was light, yet filling, so it was perfect! I couldn’t finish the last two bites, so I saved that for the ride back to Irvine.

Chris got the Bruxie Burger again, and it was as good as the first time! People should really just switch over to burgers that use waffles as the “buns”. The fries were good, but man, they are so oily. The paper bag that it comes in was soaked in oil by the end of our meal.
Johnny, Vy, Chris and I had a good talk about life, travels, education, jobs, adult life, and lots and lots of sports. Actually, the boys talked about sports. Vy and I kind of just sat there and looked pretty. It was pretty funny and coincidental that we were all matching cause we all wore white shirts to lunch! It was most definitely because Irvine was scorching hot.
