{wedding picks} airport love

With Southwest having its annual sale on flights, I have traveling on my mind. Whether it’s driving hours after hours, sitting on a train, or flying high above in the sky, I love going to different places. I fell in love with this “long distance love” styled shoot on Green Wedding Shoes because it was photographed at an airport and it was an inspiration for long distance relationships (which is a little something close to my heart).

{wedding picks} great gatsby themed wedding inspiration

I know, I know, I’m a little late to the game (in watching The Great Gatsby), but you can never have enough of Great Gatsby/1920′s themed weddings, right? A few weeks ago, I won tickets from 100 Layer Cake to watch The Great Gatsby, and I finally have time to go watch it with my best friend this weekend! We even planned to finish re-reading the book before our Sun-date. It might be a challenge for me… but we’ll see how it goes!

Wedding planners and people love the Gatsby theme. And why not? You’re mixing luxury with romance and showy-ness. (I think it’s safe to use the “Go Big or Go Home” tagline here, right?)

{wedding picks} tessa kim

If you’re a modern bride that’s looking for a vintage twist in bridal accessories, Tessa Kim‘s shop is just the place for you. Looking through her collection makes me dream about having a glamorous wedding… and soon! Tessa started designing and creating bridal accessories for her own wedding in 2009. When she couldn’t find the perfect veil for her wedding, she decided to create her own. Since she was always into art and design, it came naturally to her. Tessa created her own silk flower headpiece and veil for her big day. Having a few too many veils, she decided to put the extra veils on Etsy, and they all sold out on the same day. That’s when her business began to grow. Accessories that she hand crafts include veils, dress sashes, headbands, and hair combs. Using materials like organza, chiffon, silk, rhinestones, and Swarovski crystals, you know you’re getting an unique piece of work!

{wedding picks} rustic and elegant california ranch wedding

From a handful of do-it-yourself projects to scrolling through tons of gorgeous wedding blogs, Jocelyn took matters in her own hands and planned her gorgeous wedding at a California ranch. Featured on Snippet and Ink, Nancy Neil’s photos captured my every attention. From the clear blue skies to the details of Jocelyn’s dress and even the different cowboy boots the guests wore, I was memorized by the whole feel of the wedding and the planning process on the bride’s blog.

wedding-ceremony-ranch-outdoor-11Jocelyn and Wes had no doubt when it came to picking a venue. Wes’ family owned a nice piece of land (with cattle ranches!) in Northern California that looked beautiful in May.
